From Hive to Market: Food Safety for the Beekeeper & Beyond

Are you a beekeeper interested in selling your honey to friends and neighbors or at farmer’s markets in the future? This training and certificate program will introduce you to the Colorado Cottage Food Act and how it applies to honey, comb, and other edible products from the hive. This training will cover basic food safety and best practices for your home kitchen, foods permissible under Colorado’s Cottage Food Act, and packaging and labeling requirements for honey and other cottage foods. Upon successful completion of the training and food safety test, you will receive your Food Safety Certificate from Colorado State University Extension, good for three years, allowing you to begin selling your honey and cottage food products.
Program will be held in the Classroom of the Administrative Offices Building.
